Years at Camp: 2nd summer in 2011

Department: Rock Music

Camp Bio:

This is my second year at Camp Ballibay. I have always enjoyed working with people of all ages, especially in a musical environment. Camp Ballibay is a great place with a wide range of opportunities for both campers and the staff. I look forward to meeting and working with new and returning staff members and campers.

Professional/School Bio:

I have always enjoyed listening to music from a very young age, and began playing drums aged 11. Drumming has always been my favourite , playing in a variety of different bands and orchestral groups, ranging from, a orchestras, to jazz big bands and brass bands. This experience has allowed me to learn the importance of appreciating all styles of music, and adapting your playing to suit accordingly. I have also been in a steady flow of rock bands with friends from school and university through which I have had experiences recording in studios, writing out own songs and performing live which is my favourite! i have also enjoyed jazz music for a long time.. For the last two years I have been playing with the Reel Time Ceiligh Band which is based in Edinburgh
In my spare time I play basketball and enjoy muay thai boxing. I also enjoy anything outdoors, as well as having a keen interest in art.

About the Staff of the Ballibay Camps

A key to the success of any camping season is staff. We spend a great deal of time screening and selecting our staff before every summer, and we have been fortunate to have many talented counselors and teachers remain with us season after season. Our staff members are predominantly educators and university students from the United States, although we also have a strong international component to our staff.

Our staff members come to us with outstanding credentials: professional experience, a background in teaching, and/or exceptional skills in their specialties. Most of all, we seek good, caring people who are interested in the well-being and growth of children. We look for people who, knowing something of the competitive nature of the adult world, are excited to put those concerns aside for a summer and focus on "the journey" in a non-competitive, fun, friendly environment.
