Years at Camp: 2nd year in 2010

Department: Media, Rock Music

Camp Bio:

I first went to Ballibay in 2009 for the last Rock Intensive session of the summer for two weeks. Within the first two days of my being there, it became my sanctuary. The people were friendly and I immediately fell in love with my surroundings. Being a part of the rock intensive was an experience like no other. I loved being in a band with my fellow campers and band night was a night that I'll never forget. I will be returning in 2010 for all of first session as a CIT so I can be trained as a counselor while still being able to participate in all the fun of the rock program.

Professional/School Bio:

I've completed three years of high school and plan on going to college afterward. I'm also a member of DeMolay International, an organization for boys aged 12-21 based off of Freemasonry. DeMolay is an organization that builds good character amongst its members; teaching caring and loyalty, as well as leadership skills such as organization and public speaking. My hobbies include listening to music, playing video games and playing my drums, in addition to participating in DeMolay meetings and events, which include sports tournaments and other social gatherings.

About the Staff of the Ballibay Camps

A key to the success of any camping season is staff. We spend a great deal of time screening and selecting our staff before every summer, and we have been fortunate to have many talented counselors and teachers remain with us season after season. Our staff members are predominantly educators and university students from the United States, although we also have a strong international component to our staff.

Our staff members come to us with outstanding credentials: professional experience, a background in teaching, and/or exceptional skills in their specialties. Most of all, we seek good, caring people who are interested in the well-being and growth of children. We look for people who, knowing something of the competitive nature of the adult world, are excited to put those concerns aside for a summer and focus on "the journey" in a non-competitive, fun, friendly environment.
