Title: Counselor in Training

Years at Camp: 3rd summer in 2011

Department: Rock Music, Music

Camp Bio:

I have been a camper at Ballibay for 2 years now, joining the CIT program seemed like the next logical step. This camp began my musical career by teaching my much needed techniques and styles. I'm glad to be working with the staff and enriching all the camper's experiences like mine were.

Professional/School Bio:

I'm going to be a senior at Brooklyn Technical High School next September. My plans for college are still a bit fuzzy but I am certain that I will take music as a minor. I sing with the Brooklyn Youth Chorus Academy and I'm the lead singer and bassist in my band, The Parlor Generals, (link provided below) and after playing gigs and winning battles of the bands we are finally going to be recording our debut album this fall.

Arrival Date at Camp: June 26th

About the Staff of the Ballibay Camps

A key to the success of any camping season is staff. We spend a great deal of time screening and selecting our staff before every summer, and we have been fortunate to have many talented counselors and teachers remain with us season after season. Our staff members are predominantly educators and university students from the United States, although we also have a strong international component to our staff.

Our staff members come to us with outstanding credentials: professional experience, a background in teaching, and/or exceptional skills in their specialties. Most of all, we seek good, caring people who are interested in the well-being and growth of children. We look for people who, knowing something of the competitive nature of the adult world, are excited to put those concerns aside for a summer and focus on "the journey" in a non-competitive, fun, friendly environment.
