Title: Counselor in Training

Years at Camp: 5th summer in 2011

Department: Dance, Media, Rock Music, Visual Art, Technical Theater

Camp Bio:

This summer is my first summer being a cit at Ballibay. I want to work in the music departments and in photography. Music and photography are a big part of my life, so I would love to work in these departments. Through working as a cit I see myself learning how to teach others and learn more about the departments.

Professional/School Bio:

I just completed my junior year at The Academy of the Holy Cross in Kensington, MD. Throughout my school year I work on my photography, rowing on my schools crew team, and playing drums/guitar. Being 17 I am not 100% sure of my college plans, but will be working them out sooner rather then later.

Arrival Date at Camp: June 25, 2011

Home Town: Wheaton, MD

About the Staff of the Ballibay Camps

A key to the success of any camping season is staff. We spend a great deal of time screening and selecting our staff before every summer, and we have been fortunate to have many talented counselors and teachers remain with us season after season. Our staff members are predominantly educators and university students from the United States, although we also have a strong international component to our staff.

Our staff members come to us with outstanding credentials: professional experience, a background in teaching, and/or exceptional skills in their specialties. Most of all, we seek good, caring people who are interested in the well-being and growth of children. We look for people who, knowing something of the competitive nature of the adult world, are excited to put those concerns aside for a summer and focus on "the journey" in a non-competitive, fun, friendly environment.
